Aluminum Lable Printing (Eiri-1093)

Cracking of the gun-arabic film on varnish impregnated aluminum, e.g for transparencies. This fault is identical with the cracking of short oil varnish film on long oil under coatings. The gun layer really takes the place of a very short oil resin film. Label varnishes dry quickly without penetrating into the aluminum and other metal etc. while on account of its oil content and also of two sided application, transparent varnish can penetrate completely. Some pigments contained in printing inks retard the drying of e.g roller coated clear varnish procure more suitable inks. Drying cann be accelerated by one of the safe heating processes. If the varnish printed surface shows numerous amtt patches, the printing inks used may be unsuitable and too absorptive. Some times they do not accept super imposition of a lacquer at all (crystallation).
