Project Report on Barium Nitrate

Barium Nitrate is an important Barium Salt which is available as lustrous white crystals which are soluble in water which finds use in pyrotechnics, chemicals, ceramic glazes etc. However in general regading barium compounds their application are varied and significant. Barium componds exhibit x-ray Barium their uses encompassing a wide range including ceramics, glass, lubricating oils. Barium carbonate is sometimes employed as a neutralzing  agent for sulphuric acid and because hot barium carbonate and barium sulphate are insoluble no contaminating barium ions are introduced. The Foregoing application is found in the synthe dyestuff industry. The glass industry uses 45% of  the barium  carbonate producd and bricks and clay 25% witheritc is used  chiefly to prepare other compound. Barium sulphate  is a useful white pigment particularly in the precipita-ted form blanc fixe. It is used as a filler for paper,rubber, linoleum, and  oil cloth.Because of  its of actity to X-ray, Barium sulphate  in  a purified  form   is  important in  contour   photographs  of  the digestive  tract.  The  paint  industry  is  the  largest  single  consumer  of   barium   compound.
